Hilton is having app issue. If you cancel a refundable award reservation via the app, points don’t get credited back automatically.

As of the time of this writing, I had to cancel an award reservation via the Hilton app and never received my points back. So I called in today and was advised about the known issue with award cancellation in the Hilton app that doesn't trigger the refund of points automatically. Hilton is working on it.

Meanwhile, if you need your points back to book another reservation, you will have to call in and have the agent contacts the help desk to get your points back manually. Hope this helps!
